The Kidnapping Survivor's Story

The article you about reading is a true life story of a woman, mother, wife, daughter, sister and an aunt.
All these is what she is to people like you and I. she loves and loved by them all. She is happily married
with 2 lovely boys living a peaceful pious life with everyone that knows her, she owns a provision store,
and a trained practiced Architect now impacting knowledge on pupils of one of leading private school in Lagos, Nigeria.
She is one of life’s Great Survivors, she was one among several other victims that survived a kidnapping attempt
for possible ritual killings. Many times we hear testimonies of people who survived or escaped from kidnapers or
ritual killers. I paused and wander how backward we are at a time when there are millions of ways in impacting
positive development and meeting peoples’ needs to make millions both online and offline. Yet we are faced with
people that deserved not to belong to any community due to their barbaric, occult practices, killing innocent
citizens for miracle wealth, power etc. and yet people see us as one of the religious countries of the world.

Now seat back, create little time and have a share of this miraculous true life story which I believed you may
have never heard or read. Here we have lots to learn and share together and we all need to create awareness and
fight against kidnapping.

The Story

A journey meant to be 45 minutes to 1 hour, ended up being a 3 days journey without getting to destination. While some
victims ended their lives on such journey, she was lucky to be alive today and share the story you are reading now.
She was the last to board the bus at Ojota to her destination. All passengers paid their fares and the assumed last
journey by their captors began. What could be going on their minds? I mean their Captors. What are they thinking right
at that point when the bus is fast moving? Are they set for the actions? Are they afraid of any flop? Do they have any
backup? I mean in authority to embark on such trade. My thinking of what they are thinking is inexhaustible.

The last thing she remember on the journey was when they got to a long pile up traffic due to monthly religious gathering
along the highway, the driver with passengers permission opted for short cut diversion to beat the traffic. And that was the
last she could remember of the journey. There is all possibility that all passengers went unconscious after their captor must
have released a dangerous gas substance or something to send them unaware as later confirmed by medical reports.

Suddenly, she opens her eyes with little consciousness in her and discovered lots of people, more than 5 different passengers
of 18 seater buses were lying numb in a big hall surrounded with long red and white clothe. She appeared to have been dragged
on the ground forcefully from the bus with blood stains over her and could not stand or walk due to pains she felt over her body.
Looked around and fortunate enough found her bag right before her, picked her mobile phone and made a distress call to her husband.

“Hello! Hello!! Hello!!! I! I!! I!!! Don’t Know Where! Where!! I! I!! Am! I! I Have Been Kidnapped”

Suddenly, she heard a foot steps coming toward her. The phone fell and scattered, due to her poor physical condition she
was too distressed and confused to assemble her phone, while the foot steps fades away. She quickly get pen and 2 pieces
of paper, wrote names and mobile numbers of people she knows off-heart including her husband’s number. Put one in her bag
and held tight to the other in her hand and again lost consciousness.

At home, the husband appeared more composed, made several calls to friends and relatives and ended up reporting her case
to the police of her missing and not reachable on phone.
After 2 days under her captor’s net, on a Sunday morning her body was found lying on the Berger-Lagos/Ibadan Express way
at early hour of the day looking odd and unconscious at a time when alighted travelers and hawker mistook her for a crazy
person passing her night beside the highway. As day break, people gathered and later realized she was a victim. But of what?
No one knows. Someone among the crowd took a bold step, grabbed the paper in her hand and calls the husband.

Rescue Mission
The husband appeared accompany with a friend to save her life. Rushed her straight to the hospital for checkup and treatment,
after several hours she regained her consciousness, unable to walk with pains all over her body.
After several visits to the hospital, gradually regained her physical condition and resumed back to her teaching profession
with lots of congratulatory messages from friends and relations.

2 Month After
After 2 months of this sad horrible experience, she started experiencing something she could not explain, once
a while she feels (Brain Pause) or can I call it (memory freeze). Hope you get what I am trying to explain or
you still don’t? ok, may be I should break it down. Do you know how or when your Desktop system or Laptop stops
responding to instruction? I mean when it ignores all your (clickings) and only solution is for you to put it off
in a hard way, possibly because it has been infected with virus. Now you understand. (Or can you explain this better?
Please do by leaving a comment).
That is what she feels sometimes, while in active time day or night, suddenly feels her memory stops functioning and
takes like 2 to 3 minutes before functioning again

Medical Advice
After seeking medical advice, she was asked to go for a brain test. Guess the result?
The result was kept under sealed and confidential; she was referred to a SPECIALIST.
Who are they? They are The Psychiatric Specialist. Have you heard or visited (Aaro or Yaba-Apaosi)? No, not as patient,
but as a visitor, I was once a visitor and believe me my eyes filled with uncontrollable tears flows from my eyes.
I saw beautiful faces of both sexes out of control, you understand? I mean (OUT OF CONTROL). Try a visit and see how
you can be of help.
The confidentiality of that result was due to the fact that the doctor himself could not believe what the Test result contains.

At The Psychiatric Hospital
She was welcome and requested to see a doctor with the test result and referral note from her doctor. The hospital attendant opened the report and read through with great surprise showing on her face, she quickly called another colleague to read again another doctor on duty was called to read again another was called. You will be wandering what is it that is causing bombshell is. Exactly the same thought she was having, she felt embarrassed in the manner they were whispering in their surprised look.
Finally, a doctor came forward and sat for questioning. “Good day madam, are you the patience? Yes I am. She answered. Did anybody come along with you? No I cam alone. Did you know what your report contains? No. You will need to cooperate with me, whatever I ask you to do, you do it. Ok? Ok. Now you will come with me, we are all your friends. She was forced to ask where they want to take her, Just because of the manner of questioning and focused attention coming from other officials of the hospital. She refused to further obey their order with annoyance, then she realized the needs to cooperate and take it calm with them when she was told that “If you refused my order, I will be forced to tie you in chain and order carriers to bundle you”.
At this point she knew what they are taking her for, she takes it calm with them and talks sense with them to convince them she is sane and deserve better treatment. The doctor then informed her of the report, which states her brain tissue is covered with a chemical substance by 60% which means medically she is insane. Instances of patients with same issues at the hospital were shown to her, some of them were only covered with 40% and are not normal.
The doctor find it difficult to believe she’s sane and told her that her condition could have been worse than some patients. The doctor was forced to acknowledge that her case was Miraculous.
She was advised to always keep to her appointment at the hospital for proper decontamination of the deadly substance in her brain tissue.

The Lessons
I am sure you learnt a lot from the above story and have lots to share as well. With boldness, courage and ultimately God in her support, this woman has been able to be alive today to share her story.
Don’t forget many were victims and many have lost there lives through this means, not all victims are lucky to narrate their stories.
There is need for all to be security conscious and be alert in all circumstances, to be in control in all circumstances required familiarity to safety tips then, when face with such challenges the next thought in mind is SURVIVAL.

  1. Hello all,
    I got this from a friend;
I felt I should share this experience with you so that you will be
careful how you deal with people who are unfamiliar with you.

About a month ago, a family friend in Abuja received anonymous telephone
calls and text messages demanding a ransom of NGN1,200,000, failure
which he and/or members of his family would either be kidnapped or shot.
No reason was given for the threat. The gang was very thorough in their
details of my friend's family and his movement.. They gave him the first
and middle names of each of his children and his wife, which were known
only to very close relatives. On one occasion, the gang gave a
description of the clothes he wore on a particular day and the times he
    went out and came in.

The recipient was advised to play along with the group while efforts
were made to contact the State Security Service (SSS) and the Police.
Two weeks ago, the gang issued a 48-hour ultimatum for the money to be
paid. The SSS contacted the management of the commercial bank nominated by the
gang for the deposit of the ransom. My friend was then advised to
deposit the sum of NGN200,000 in the Abuja account. Three hours after
the deposit was made, attempt was made to withdraw the money in a branch
of the bank in Lagos. The bank immediately alerted the police who
arrested the man and kept him incommunicado.

As other members of the gang could not reach their member who was then
in Police custody, they rang my friend to enquire if he reported the
banking details to security agencies. When my friend enquired why they
asked, he was told that they had neither seen nor heard from the man
they sent to collect the ransom from the bank. The gang appeared to
have bought the lie sold to them by my friend when he told them that the
man might have absconded with the money. Two hours later, they sent an
account in another commercial bank for the remittance of the balance
    ransom.

The security agencies again placed alert on the account after which my
friend paid in NGN200,000. Soon after the deposit was made, two men
worked into a branch of the commercial bank, again in Lagos, to withdraw
the money. They were both arrested and handed over to the police. All
three men are now being interrogated by the FCT Command of the Nigeria
    Police.

In the course of the investigation, it was found that all three men had
been contracted by my friend to drill a borehole in his house about two
months ago. While they were contstructing the borehole, my friend's wife had
occasions to take them in her car to some places in Abuja to purchase
materials for the works. On one occasion, she had left a file
containing her school records and other personal documents on the back
seat of the car. A member of the gang scanned through the file and
extracted some vital personal information with the use of his mobile
phone. Also, during the course of the two weeks when they drilled the
borehole, they had interviewed my friend's two little children, aged
four and three, to know their full names.

There is so much we can learn from this incident. First, personal and
sensitive information should not be left in a place where unauthorized
persons could have access to them. Second, in our homes we should use
only workmen who have been referenced and/or are familiar. And third,
we should teach our household members to not speak to strangers.

    Thank you and best regards

    ABIMBOLA OLUBUNMI O. PAUL
